Oral health concerns more than the teeth.
Gum disease can cause many complications if left unchecked and untreated. Symptoms of gum disease can be:
- Bleeding of the gums when you brush
- Swollen gums
- Halitosis (bad breath)
- Receeding gums
- Sensitivity
If you have any of the symptoms, it’s worth coming in for a routine check-up.
How is gum disease treated?
In most cases, gum disease is caused by bacteria that grow in plaque. Regular visits to a hygienist will reduce the chances of gum disease developing and they will be able to assess the general health of your gums.
